Liposuction Recovery — Post-Operative Healing Long Island

Published on January 31, 2015 by
Liposuction Recovery Long Island

If you are considering a liposuction procedure and want to know more about what to expect after the surgery, you’re not alone. This body-contouring procedure can be achieved in various ways and in different locations of the body. Before booking your procedure, it’s a good idea to learn a thing or two about liposuction recovery.

Liposuction recovery is fairly benign. There are very small incisions that heal, and are easily covered with simple bandaids. You will feel sore, but can easily walk around immediately post-operatively.You should plan to take a couple of days away from work to allow time for post-operative healing. It’s normal to experience some swelling and soreness for a week or so. Swelling is reduced significantly in about a week, and the results are immediately apparent. Swelling continues to go down and is at 80% in about a month. The final swelling takes an additional 2-3 months.

For more details about liposuction recovery, contact the Long Island office of Dr. Gregory Diehl to set up a consultation.
