Skin cancers are also very common on the rest of the body. Most of these, such as those on the chest, back or arms, are closed with more straightforward linear closures. The hand, however, poses unique challenges because of the critical anatomy under the skin. These reconstructions must protect underlying tendons and nerves. Often skin grafting is employed.
